In reality we know that cats and dogs are mortal enemies but sometimes the opposite can also happen. Today’s story is about a small empathic feline who has gone viral after being seen comforting an abandoned dog.
The stray puppy has been posted outside the same apartment where it once lived, in spite of the weather, it refuses to move.
There is information that the dog used to have a home. But the couple who were raising him had to abandon him as they had to go to the Senior care center and it was not allowed to take it with them there.
Six months on, and the dog hasn’t left the front of the building. One resident even created a little house that sheltered the animals from the elements. Regardless of the mini home, the stray pup still prefers to lie down at the entrance of the building while accompanied by its loyal feline companion.
The most interesting thing though is the pup’s furry feline friend which doesn’t seem to leave its side. The cat is elusive and seems to run off when people approach the pair: “They don’t leave here looking at something in the same place, but the strange thing is that every time people pass by, the dog tries to check everyone’s face, unlike the cat that runs away,” says a resident.
“They hug to keep warm when they sleep together at night. Maybe they think they are in the same situation since they met on the street. They know they are different, but they get along well, they comfort each other”.
Most of the neighbors leave the strays some food when they pass, but with winter fast approaching, a rescue center was called to take the pair to a more suitable home.
They were scooped up and taken to the local vet who judged they were both in good health. Now they reside at a temporary shelter before finding a forever home.
